2026 NEXT! Staged Reading Series: SWIFT

2026 NEXT! Staged Reading Series is pleased to present: SWIFT by Lindsay Nicklas and Directed by Emily Begin.

When twelve‑year‑old Swift O’Dell meets a girl playing her flute in an abandoned stone quarry, old stories he’s heard begin to echo real life. After a series of robberies alarms his small community, suspicion gathers around the girl’s father, and Swift finds himself torn between protecting his new friend and telling the truth. Pulsing with the heat and hush of an upstate summer, SWIFT is a coming‑of‑age story celebrating friendship, resilience, clamor, and joys of rural life.

Join us in the Fenimore Art Museum Auditorium on Sunday, April 12th beginning at 1:00pm.
