Porcupine Quill Earring Workshop with Lou & Cathy Gilson

 In

Join Native American artists Lou Gilson (Innu) and Cathy Gilson (Unkechaug) as they describe the use and history of porcupine quills and glass beads by Native Americans and then lead you through the making of earrings using these materials. This special workshop is designed for adults and children as young as ten years old so gather the whole family and join us for this very unique experience. All materials are included in registration fee.

Lou and Cathy Gilson have done beadwork since childhood, learning from relatives, friends, and Native craftspeople. They have been selling their work for over three decades and have conducted workshops at many institutions, including the American Museum of Natural History and the Brooklyn Museum in New York City.
