Family Art Days – A Journey through Art with Cooperstown Art Association
Saturdays, Jan. 11, Feb. 15, and March 14 from 10 a.m.-noon
Location: Louis C. Jones Center, The Farmers’ Museum
Beat the winter blues and support important community organizations with some fun & fantastic art projects for families at The Farmers’ Museum! Drop in anytime between 10 a.m. and noon to create and learn! Each month we will partner with a local non-profit organization to offer special hands-on art projects that parents and children can work on together and take home. Admission is free (but please have your donations ready to support the participating organizations and your favorite museum!).
January 11th: Our Favorite Animals with the Susquehanna Animal Shelter
Join us and the Susquehanna Animal Shelter for some fun hands-on projects about the animals you love most – your pets!
February 15th: A Journey through Art with Cooperstown Art Association
Learn about and take part in a multitude of different art and craft media during this creatively-charged morning with the Cooperstown Art Association!
Crafts:
– Handprint mittens (inspired by our upcoming Jan Brett exhibition)
– Keith Haring: Action murals (inspired by our upcoming Keith Haring exhibition)
– Scratch-foam prints (inspired by our upcoming Abrecht Durer exhibition)
– Bookmark Making activity with three different levels for the different age groups attending. Beginners will have cardstock bookmarks pre-printed with fun patterns to color in and personalize. Intermediates will be using strips of paper to make woven bookmark. And the last option for the older kids will be making a flat-woven bookmark out of yarn.
March 14th: Celebrating the Environment with Otsego Land Trust
Learn how you can help to care for our precious local environment and enjoy some delightful hands-on projects provided by us and the Otsego Land Trust!
