Fenimore Deep-Dives: Kevin Gray, Manager of Arts Education
Hamilton … Burr … and the tea behind the duel!
In this month’s Fenimore Deep Dive program, we look at an actual ‘itemized list of thirty years of disagreements’ that Alexander Hamilton wrote about Aaron Burr just three years before their fateful duel that would end Hamilton’s life. Why did Hamilton distrust Aaron Burr and so desperately wanted to prevent him becoming President of the United States? Find out as we examine this very interesting document in our museum’s collections, live via Zoom
Join our enthusiastic and knowledgeable Curatorial, Collections, and Education staff on the last Tuesday of each month to take a closer look at artwork or objects of their choice from Fenimore Art Museum’s extensive collections. In each live Zoom presentation, a professional from our museum staff will select one or two pieces from the Fenimore collection to discuss at length, providing interesting facts and backstories of the objects that dig deeper than the label text in a gallery. You never know what you’re going to see and learn about next! The roughly 20-minute presentations will be followed by a live Q&A with the audience.
Fenimore Deep-Dive programs are offered for free with a suggested donation of $10. Your donations help our museum continue to offer programs like this in the future!
