Taming Shakespeare: Free Acting Shakespeare Workshops for Children, Teens, and Adults
Danielle and Michael Henrici will teach two ninety-minute workshops on Acting Shakespeare – one for ages 12 and up and the second for children ages 6 -12. Danielle has a Master’s Degree in Educational Theatre from NYU and is a member of Actors’ Equity, the professional union for actors in the United States. She is the Founding Artistic Director of Glimmer Globe Theatre and is currently preparing to play the female lead in Taming of the Shrew. Michael began acting locally and went on to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, widely recognized as the finest acting conservatory in the country. Michael is the Co-Artistic Director of Glimmer Globe Theatre and he is currently directing Taming of the Shrew, in which he will also play the male lead. The workshops will be themed around the current production. The objectives are numerous: to make Shakespeare relatable and fun, to cultivate an appreciation for live theatre in a region with extremely limited access, and to give local residents an opportunity to try acting.
Saturday, July 27 at 1 pm (children) and 3 pm (teens/adults). The workshops will be sponsored by Cooperstown Rotary Club.
