THE TEMPEST by William Shakespeare (POSTPONED TO 2021)

Glimmer Globe Theatre presents a new staging of William Shakespeare’s captivating magical odyssey, THE TEMPEST. After being exiled from Milan by his brother’s betrayal, Prospero and his young daughter Miranda find themselves marooned on a remote island inhabited by cunning spirits and strange creatures. Over the years, while Miranda grows into a young woman who passionately yearns for a new life, Prospero teaches himself the art of sorcery and begins to plan his revenge… As a Milanese ship carrying his brother comes into sight, Prospero conjures up a powerful Tempest, sinking the vessel and marooning all those on board to the same treacherous island. This colorful, inventive new production of Shakespeare’s final play will be directed by Michael Henrici, and will take full advantage of the Lucy B. Hamilton Amphitheatre’s stunning view of Otsego Lake.
