THE BARBER SURREAL: EUGENE BERMAN’S

REIMAGINED BARBER OF SEVILLE

March 31 – December 30, 2018

Surrealist artist Eugene Berman was well-known for his set and costume designs for the opera. The museum will once again collaborate with the Metropolitan Opera, this time to present photographs, costumes, and stage designs created by Berman for the 1953 production of The Barber of Seville. This exhibit will complement the Glimmerglass Festival production of the opera.

Sponsored in part by Lady Juliet Tadgell and Dr. Christopher Tadgell.
