Description
Written by David Tatham for an exhibition organized by Fenimore Art Museum, this catalogue is dedicated to Homer’s works inspired by the Adirondacks.
“Homer’s reasons for returning so often to Minerva were as much social as they were piscatory and professional. As was always true in his case, a warmly congenial social routine coupled with a visually stimulating environment brought forth sustained periods of high quality work.
“From his Adirondack sojourns came a handful of finely designed magazine illustrations, at least fourteen oil paintings, and about a hundred watercolors, including many of great brilliance.”
